Israeli authorities have detained a military reservist and a civilian for allegedly exploiting classified information to place bets on Polymarket, a prediction market platform. The reservist, affiliated with Shin Bet, Israel's internal security agency, accessed sensitive military data to wager on potential strikes against Iran.

A user identified as "ricosuave666" reportedly profited over $152,300 by betting on Israel's military operations in Iran, with the incidents dated June 2025. Prosecutors are preparing criminal charges for security breaches, bribery, and obstruction of justice.

Officials condemned the misuse of classified intelligence for financial gain, labeling it a "real security risk" that could compromise military operations. This marks the first known case of insider trading linked to a prediction market.
